AHI aims to promote the economic interest of Afrikaanse Handelsinstituut (AHI) The Afrikaanse HandelsInstituut AHI is a multi-sectoral employer organisation, involved in all sectors of the economy except primary agriculture. The organisation was established in 1942, representing members of trade, industry, mining, financial institutions and a variety of service organisations. AHI has headoffice in Pretoria and nine provincial offices. A board of directors govern AHI through a management committee, which is responsible for the daily operations. The final decision making body of the AHI is the National Congress. The provincial structure is elected and chaired locally. AHI's objective is to support a market driven economy in conjunction with all role players. By positively influencing the business environment, AHI aims to promote the economic interest of members and broad business community, as well as help members maximise business opportunities in a changing environment.
