South African Chamber of Business (SACOB)
SACOB dates back to 1892 and historically serviced traditionally white-owned businesses in industrial, service and trade sectors.
The secretariat staff includes trained economists, business managers, political scientists, and administrative officers.
SACOB provides the following main services to its members:
- Policy advocacy, e.g. proposals and recommendations to government on taxation, regional integration, international trade, labour & social policy, energy & environment and education & training
- Information services, e.g. monthly newsletter, website, and discussion forums
- Training through local and regional chambers
- Input on legislation through the SACOB Parliamentary Information Centre
- Secretarial Services for several of its local and regional chambers as well as for the South African Council and the International Chamber of Commerce
- Match Making and Exhibitions
- Export Promotion
