Policy & Advocacy
|
Chambers of Commerce and Industry South Africa The vision and mission of CHAMSA is to drive key imperatives vital in transforming and growing the South African economy. As such, CHAMSA is committed to progressively assist in creating an environment for the profitable growth of all sectors in the economy in a socially responsible manner, recognising the principles entrenched in the triple bottom line of good corporate governance for sound business practices in particular and the community in general. Specific membership services, which CHAMSA would champion over and above its stated responsibility in policy and advocacy, are business linkage programmes, a constructive enterprise development programme, training in business conduct and business development and more specific international trade issues. CHAMSA's ability and capacity to develop progressive international linkages and relevance in areas such a global networking, partnerships and pacts, are seen as key to facilitating and growing business opportunities and activities in a regional context and further a field. One area which CHAMSA needs to avoid is the duplication of services currently provided by one or all of its constituent members. It will be important to define specific tasks for CHAMSA that the other organisations can not do anymore due to limited capacity, or have never done. Members must not feel that they pay for duplication, but that they are being provided with additional value.
